Michael Doherty

Michael Doherty is Professor of Veterinary Clinical Studies and Dean-Elect in the School of Veterinary Medicine, University College Dublin (UCD). A veterinary graduate of the University of Edinburgh, he is a Past-President and diplomate of the European College of Bovine Health Management and Irish national representative for the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation. his collaborative research activities have included studies on bovine immune responses to Mycobacterium bovis, the clinical neurology and epidemiology of scrapie and the molecular genetics of inherited ovine arthrogryposis.

He is currently an executive member of Animal Health Ireland, and is actively involved in the development of national dairy herd health programmes in Ireland.
